It's been over 2 years now since separation and final divorce has been processed. No contact for 2 years. I have begun dating and met some very nice guys but I never want to go out with them a 2nd time. I just don't feel any chemistry and wish I did because there have been a couple of extremely great ones. I feel so angry toward my ex because I am in this situation and wish I could go back to my "comfort zone." Even though I would never go back to my marriage (and he definitely won't as he left me after 30 years) it was still a comfortable feeling not having to meet a new person and trying to get to know them. I am on several dating sites and enjoy it but wonder why I never feel the "connection." I feel terrible if someone really likes me but I just don't feel the same. Is it me just not meeting the "right match" for me? Or is it that it is uncomfortable to do this at my age? I really would love to have what I used to have except with a person who loves me and the relationship is easy not a struggle. I don't want issues to deal with anymore but an easy, loving and fun relationship with someone I look forward to seeing. Is that expecting too much? I mean that question because it does seem that my expectations are too high and that no one will be able to meet them. In addition I want to feel a "spark." My sister (56 yo) met someone on match.com a year ago that is a great guy. They now live together and are very happy. So I guess it is possible and I think I am the type of person who needs a relationship to be content and happy. I do not feel complete being alone. Any thoughts would be appreciated as I have been down about this lately. Thanks in advance for any insight you may have.
