Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Well my visit to Idaho is over and my emotions are all over the place. First I am happy to be going home as I have discovered that this is not home. I'm looking forward to the new semester and I love my new friends and Church family. They continue to grow on me.
But the visit here has made me more aware of what my youngest son is putting up with (2 young children under foot all of the time and they are not well-behaved). A Dad that thinks if he yells loud enough, he's a good parent. A dad that has so much hatred for me now that the OW is back in his life. The good news is that my son stayed with me the whole holidays, got caught up on his senior project and made a 30 on his ACT. It's only 4 months and I think he will be fine. I have 2 people who have volunteered to take him in if things get bad with his Dad.
Then my oldest and DIL got into a big fight with him and have stayed with her family which I kinda figured would happen.
I am still having such a time with my ex and this tax situation. He won't pay his share and the attorneys keep telling me I could get stuck paying it all because he isn't paying. There were several illegal things that happened in this whole situation that could allow me to go after him criminally (forged signatures, OW pretending to be me on the phone, etc.) but I'm trying not to go that route. I'm even willing to pay half of the thing but I will not get stuck with the whole thing. I need to get my youngest graduated and then it won't matter as much. I am so done with this man.
Anyway please pray for my sons, me and a resolution to the whole nightmare that was my 20 year marriage!

This may be something you can do on your own.
Your Son sounds like things will be o.k. with him.
Do you care if he hates you? I don't think you do. Who cares what he thinks? You are a decent upstanding woman. And you answer to God. so poo poo on the pooper. :o)
I hope your challenge will be scary enough to flush those $$ out of him. LOL.
I'm so sorry for all your going threw with your ex. It seems sometimes things never get easy again.

Kathi, I was talking to my attorney today and she said that I should go after him for that money and I will. I just think it is such a waste of funds, but trust me, I will.

Next September my youngest will be starting university in another province, and I will be living alone. I will have gone from living with my spouse and all 3 children to living alone int the course of 1.5 years! At Christmas I was actuallly bribing my middle child (currently in university) with the use of my car to drive to school if he will live with me next year (the school will be close to an hour away). He said no, and I congratulated him for not caving in to my neediness, and we had a laugh!
Being new here, I don't know too much about your past, but you sound like you are well on your way to a bright future. I wish you well and look forward to learning more abour you and from you. Take care and keep sharing!
Maybe I wasn't clear in my earlier response. I suggested that you go ahead and pay the IRS to get them off your back and THEN go after your stupid X for reimbursement. You don't want to screw around with the IRS, for sure.
I'd weigh the cost of prosecuting him, though, against what the taxes are. Sometimes you have to figure it that way. The way I figure it, my X got away with $40 - $50k in hidden assets, but the cost of going after him for my half would have been a wash. I trusted that some bad Karma would follow that hidden money and ended up just leaving it alone.
My daughter is graduating this year too!! a senior! where has all the time gone? Your son will be fine, I am sure he has more your qualities!! :) Prayers going your way, Hugs and all the supporters! You can do this!!
It's good that you have found a home in WV. Everyone up there seems to be very nice. I'm so glad it worked out that way. Sorry the back thing keeps me at home. If you ever have time to come to Beckley, just let me know. You are always welcome.
