Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Hugs to you!
And there are plenty around them validating their opinions. His wife and GF aren't just feeding him home cooked food; they are feeding him a home cooked crock of you-know-what where he is the hero and you are to blame. Why? Who knows, who cares. They probably are milking him blind with their own selfishness and that's part of why he can't pay for the basics for you.
I agree with the others -- do whatever it takes to take care of those kids. Dad won't, but there are so many others who will be there for you now. You can't have the DB, but you can have others who are so much more worthy of your love and attention.
LIKE THOSE KIDS!!! Look at whom they chose to honor ... YOU!
I know it sucks to be working so hard and still not be able to provide for yourself and your kids. I don't think the hurt ever goes away, but I hope it does fade to the back of your mind.
Do you have thrift stores to shop in? Is there a food pantry in your area? If you belong to a house of worship, are there any programs you could qualify for?
I've been selling everything I don't need, even if I only get a little money from the sale. I figure better a few bucks in my pocket. I don't know how old your kids are, but could they have a garage sale?
I know these things won't help you with the rent, but maybe it would make all of you feel a bit more in control.
Hugs!
