Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
My Kids...Son and Daughter..and Grandson. They have held stedfast to the Mother that loved and raised them.
M.O.I. that helped through all of this. The calm voice when all I want to do is throw a fit! LOL
DS friends helping me through this.
The few family memebers/friends that have given me a couch to sleep on. And a place to shower. :o)
Thankful that I have been able to laugh and found joy while still in this situation.
Thankful that God has instilled Hope in me. Hope of a job, a person to share my crazy life with, and the fortitude to forget what was, and concentrate on what Can be.
I am so thankful for this site. I honestly don’t know where I would be had I not found this place.
I am thankful for 3 well adjusted, beautiful, thriving, learning and always growing daughters.
I am thankful that myself and daughters are all healthy and safe
I am thankful for my best friend of 26 years. She has been my only constant in life and I could never repay her for all she has done for me.
I am thankful that I have the basic needs in life, food, shelter, and minimal toys.
I am thankful for all the great friends and support system I have in real life.
I am super thankful that my credit/job/income has finally reached a point of being trustworthy and stable and I am able to financially take care of myself and my children.
I am thankful that I still have an uncanny ability to just laugh at life and the world around me.
And most importantly, as a year has passed since our separation and family being torn apart I am eternally thankful that my daughters do not hate me. I have come to learn it is quite the contrary actually and that is all I need to ever know in life. That those baby girls want and need me in theirs.
Actually when I really started thinking about it, my list of what to be thankful for is quite long..... not a complete list, but......
Two brothers who support me and help me when I need it
My best friend in the whole world - who never fails to pick up the phone and listen to me whatever is going on - along with a few others who have also listened while I've laughed, cried, bitched and rejoiced..
My little four legged companion who is my reason to get of out the bed some days
I have a GREAT job that supports me well - I do not have to depend on the X for ANYTHING
I have a nice, safe, secure, affordable place to live where I can stay as long as I want - since I own 1/3 of it (with my brothers)
My next door neighbor who takes care of my yard
The financial means to secure and pay for an attorney to represent me when I was an emotional mess and couldn't think straight
I am in pretty good health - a little skinny maybe - but able to be active and do pretty much what I want.
My DS friends who have taken me in, supported me and have given great advice
Opportunities........... need I expand more on that? LOL
Last but not least - the fact that my divorce was FINAL this past Monday!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
