Because it is final, you realize is over, over a dream that you had, it is gone. But some drinks should do it, and look for the future, the good part, that you are free, new beginnings, new people, new take on life. What is the proper comments? Congratulations? No! I am so sorry to hear of this? No! It is both. I mixed feeling for sure. It is the end but at the same time a new beginning. It's been over a year and I wish I was there where you are right now. I have already made it through all of the other landmarks - birthdays, 20th wedding anny, Thanksgiving, Christmas, valentine's Day, year to divorce filing...

It is the closing of one chapter and the opening of another. You are closing what once was your life's dreams. You had future hopes and a picture of how you would spend your days. That has now changed. It is bittersweet.

I didn't really feel the affect until I received the papers in the mail with the certified signature stamped on the back. I remember turning the page over and looking at the date, thinking "life as I knew it for 30 years, ended with some strangers (the judge) signature" I felt numb and cold also. Feel for you I know its rough. I wish you well.

Sending you hugs, too! It's a very strange feeling. I am not sure it has hit me yet. 30yrs. together and then it took 10min. in court to end. To put it crudely, it's just to f(*&ing weird to suddenly be over a marriage - especially a long one. I am still adjusting to being "single," but it's becoming more real. I wish you well in dealing with this.

I'm happy for you that the painful process of divorce is at it's end. No more what's, if's and how's - anyway. It has to be somewhat of a relief in itself. I'm not far behind you Shorty. I think I will be glad it's finally over but still not believing its happening. It hits me still some days that my marriage is over and other days I'm glad to be rid of him.

I think the final court date will be a sad one for me but I plan on holding my head up and keeping my composure. It's still his loss. Just remember that when the papers come....it's still HIS loss.
