Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group

I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

Met with the new attorney yesturday. I have a hearing Friday. My wife is going for custody. So the attorney is putting in that she is unfit. That a drug test is needed. That because the responce she made to my divorce filing States the house is worthless. He is going to request that I get to move back in. So my fingers crossed. I had the cops at the new house last night as we dove up....my heart sank... did she kill herself??did she file something against me???no the neibours complained about my dogs barking. So am in better sports.now that the new attorney is on it. Well I guess her 4th of July will be messes up emotionally. God knows I have and am emotional messed up.

thank you all, I have been crying all day. its like its started again the pain, I thought I was fine and had a good couple of weeks. but today is all crying

It's ok to feel sorry for your ex, especially when you know that you can't help her. She has to help herself, as we all do.

Crying is good. Let it all out, and you'll feel a whole lot better, just like your mum probably told you, or maybe it was your grandma?

Am having a little cry myself today. It must be a good day for it :)

Ok here it is, I get custody ( has to be finiled) but 10 days from the forth (ironic independace day!) 10 days and I go back to MY home with my son. I got quiet brutal today on the stand. She was after all my cars that I sold, and when she pushed the sell the furnishings and other car I drive, I responded on the stand " I have not heard one thing about your son, its all about money, you want all that stuff, have it!" of course my attorney straighted that out, : you can live with nothing", and told him I have not, "I have my son, my dogs , my health. and now my house, I am good. I have to go ,but will write more when I am back.

I'm so glad you got custody of your son and your house back. Now hopefully you can get your life back on track.

Sure understand the emotions you are having. Hang in there. Good times are ahead for you.

From what you have described, this woman is like cancer -- running amok and wreaking havoc on a lot of lives. I would be dancing in the streets to hear the judge say he wants it OVER as quickly as possible. You and your son will be soooo much better off without her toxic influence in your lives.
Your future without her is something to look forward to!
