Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
My new Unwedding Ring!
Kellyb711
I took my wedding rings off shortly after dickhead told me he didn't love me anymore and wanted a new life. Of course, after 22 years my hands were feeling naked so I've been on a mission somewhat looking at different rings. I bought an inexpensive ring a couple of weeks ago that is Navajo made and southwest in nature for my right hand. I was looking for something tuquoise and silver for my left hand but couldn't find anything I liked.
I happened to be in Macys yesterday and was checking out their fine jewlrey - something I'm not typically attracted to. However, there was a beautiful ring I tried on that was sterling silver with black diamond chips swirled around a pearl in the middle. When she said $1100 I didn't hang around. Well I obsessed over this ring the rest of the day and into the night. I couldn't think of anything more "unwedding" like and that appealed to me. I also happen to love pearls.
I went back today and it turns out it was 50% off then another 20% off if I used my Macys card and I get a 12 month plan to pay it off with no interest. I decided to throw in some black onyx earrings I fell in love with too. So, $532 total with monthly payments of $44. Impulsive? yes, should I be saving my money? of course. But for some reason this ring is priceless to me. It's a statement to myself that I'm moving on. It's something tangible that I can look at and remind myself that I'm strong and will not only survive but thrive!
I've never bought any jewlrey that cost more than a few dollars, so even if it was foolish I kind of feel like a princess, even if it's just for a day.

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

Where it with love and pride! I also have missed wearing my rings - not what they symbolize but just having a nice piece of jewelry.
Ironically, I am also getting a 'new' ring made right now. My mom had a pretty gold ring that she offered to me, and she had always wanted to set some diamonds in it. I wanted to get rid of the diamond band he gave me for my 40th,so i'm having the diamonds extracted from that ring and set into my 'new' ring. I didn't even ask what it would cost! I figured it's just some setting work and a sizing for the ring, and it will be my celebratory 'new life' ring just like yours.
Hurray for us!
I was in a tack shop and saw this cute little silver ring with what looks like a full cheek snaffle on the top. A bit that Zee wore for years. It fit so I bought it and it cost all of $20.00. My fingers swell in the heat and I can't wear gold. So some days I can't wear the ring but I do enjoy wearing it on the days it fits just right.
I need a new ring :)
