Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group

I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

I'll be moving back to California tomorrow and on my way to starting my new life. I am both excited and scared at the same time. Knowing you guys are on my side gives me the strength to keep moving forward. I just wanted to say thank you and I will keep you updated as soon as possible.

Drive carefully--our part of the west is supposed to be pretty with a slight chance of snow for the weekend--then back to sunshine next week. Hopefully you will have clear roads and a song in your heart.

Yeh! I love California, spent half my time there with the ex, and tons of vacations and friends and good times and all that! Be not afraid, you know my analogy.. Life is a Highway!

Thank you everyone for your support and well wishes. I'll say it again, I don't know what I would do without you guys. I'm flying out this afternoon. I'll send those of you who are dealing with snow and storms some sunshine and warm weather. I'll keep you updated on my journey as soon as I can. I will be in transition for a while.

((((HUGS))))...I know how scary it is to start a new life all on your own...its like standing on the edge of a cliff...do you take the leap or not. Ive found that by taking the leap...there's always a soft place to land. It will be that way for you to. Happy journey and many hugs....Kathy

Good luck on your move and your adventure. I don't know if you've read the book "Divorce sucks" but it was recommended by many on this board. I'm in the process of reading it and it just gives me such hope for future happiness and goodness and joy. So pick up a book and read it as you enter your new venture!

Ah, Californy here I come!

I loved all of my visits to there so far. Been to LA, San Diego, Mountain View (Ames Research Center) many times, San Francisco many times (loved sailing the bay and visiting Alcatraz and Pier 39 and Ghiardelli's and...).

Enjoy this time of your life. Exciting and a bit scary is such a fun time!

Oh, Puter, me too! I have a long time friend who lives near Santa Cruz and I have been out there twice to visit. The first time, he took me to San Francisco for the day. I am NOT a city girl by any stretch of the imagination, but I LOVED San Francisco! I love Seattle, too. Tom has never been to either city so we're already talking about a trip to both in the future!
