Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
lol. I feel like I have let myself derail over the last few days. Just generally down in the dumps and having a pity party. I really don't like when I do this but I haven't been able to identify WHY I do it. It just creeps up on me. I was in my kitchen on Saturday, and was a teary eyed because I am lonely (my daughter has been out of town for a week) and I had the discussion with myself that I didn't understand why I was so down because when I was married I was also alone so much...especially on Saturday mornings. The ex worked and then when our marriage fell apart he would spend the night with his GF. Even this little talk didn't help me.
I think I have gotten off track somewhere in my thinking and recovery process and need to get back to where I was. I need a mantra or something.
Anyone have anything that helps them when they start to derail? I wish I was consistently strong like some of you wonderful people on here!

don't matter...some times you just hang in there and wait... I'm 60 now... haven't been in a relationship since the divorce... busy raising my son... he's a wonderful young man...22 going on 12...sometimes younger... it's a hoot... he's a white male so go figure... gets no help at all... nada...makes me so dam mad... he deserves so much better... so hey... guess he's got me till I die... and I'm not gonna be here long... heart problems, and PTSD are real hard to deal with... oh yeah I'm Fat... blood pressure pills piled on the water retention... don't think I'm ever gonna be 170 pounds dripping wet with sweat and foam on top again...(justin Wilson remark) okay I'm rambling... no one to talk to... hope ya'll have a great day... actually I'm happy... feel good inside, I was a faithful mate... worked hard... tried to be a good hubby, and a even greater Father... since I grew up without a mom or dad... i put all my heart into my family... they all grown got 9 grandkids... cool ... hang in there... life is what ya make of it...
