I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

I finaly realize it's over

23yrs is a long time for a marriage to crumble. I tried. Filed divorce on my wife last Wed. and am ready to get this over and go on with my life with the kids.

Yes Sir!! Nothing happy I know, you have CONTROL NOW! Remember the good and the bad times. You have assets from your marriage, those are your kids. Never think you failed. You did not fail, You never failed. You lived!!! Take care Dude because the Lord is watching. .

GC23, yes, 23 years IS a very long time. But if you live to be close to 100 yrs old, it's only 25% of your life. You lived without her before and you will again. Our life is our own, we just need to learn to reclaim it. You'll get there! I was also married 23 years, and with him for close to 30 yrs altogether.

Many of us on 'after twenty' married young and never lived as young adults on our own. It's a new experience to be truly independent...but it can be great! I'm still learning, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now - you will get there; best to you!
