I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

I hate this. I hate getting ready for work in this empty house. The silence is deafening. I can't stand seeing one toothbrush in the holder. I don't know why I bother putting on make up anymore.

It is ok to be alone and it is ok to be lonely. Think about this, give your self some time to grieve your loss, but do not let it take over your life and your emotions. What I told myself was he is not sitting around mourning me, and I am not going to let him ruin my life because he wanted a divorce. Change the things you can, accept the ones you can't. This is one of them. Stay in the present, because that is what is real.

AND this... it may not seem like it, but you have a good career and you have to shift your focus on that and off him, at least when you are there. Tell yourself that! Do not let him rob you of that. It may not seem like it right now but he will if you let him. Tell yourself every day, I am going to work, I am not going to think of him or this, until I get home at such and such a time..! YOU Can do IT!
