Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
I'm Living the Life I Prayed for, You Can Too

Hello dear friends in Strength!!! So wonderful to see some of my friends are still here helping others heal. Seems like a lifetime ago when so many of you reached out and gave me Strength, Hope, and Faith when I thought all was lost. I see there are a lot of new friends on Daily Strength as well.
To those of you who don't know me I'm T aka Disneymom, and I was just like many of you. Lost, Scared, Depressed, Confused, Angry, and in total dis belief that my life had ended up this way. I was married for 23 years, 3 awesome children, one of them already out of the house, one of them on her way to college, and our baby he was almost 10 at the time. We were almost there, with the children well on the way out own there own, time for us now right. Time to travel, time to have alone time, credit cards paid off, cars almost paid off, house coming along nicely. Yup my friends I was living the American Dream, Nothing could stop us now we had made it!!!!!
Well as you can guess things didn't turn out that way at all, and the life I HAD CARVED OUT FOR MYSELF OVER 23 YEARS WAS GONE IN 3 MONTHS!! He waited for us to all be out of the house one day, and when we got home from work and school..... we thought we had been robbed. Until we started to notice that it was only all of his stuff missing. It wasn't long before I realized that he hadn't made the house payment in months, the car payment in months, and had extended all our utilities and were all about ready to be shut off in a few days. See he needed money to plan his BIG ESCAPE. So while I was cooking him dinner, cleaning the house, running our kids everywhere and working part time running an afterschool program, he was hoarding and hiding all our money. Cleared out the savings, even took our daughters college fund so she had to drop out of school and get a job to help support.
So there I was 45 no income, no retirement, no savings, no home, no car, they repoed it a week later, no way to even get to my part time job, get my son to school, 3 pets to feed as well started asking friends to take them.
And my ex well he was spotted at the clubs, buying drinks and dinner for lots of ladies ON MY SAVINGS, AND MY DAUGHTERS COLLEGE MONEY!! See thought a lot of you thought your ex's were bad mine let his children be evicted so he could re live his youth.
My point is this, I was at the bottom, I had fallen far scared and alone I didn't know where to turn. I Prayed for Strength, Peace, and Answers to help me. My Prayers were answered when I found Daily Strength and how many people shared my story. I started to feel less alone and believe in myself again. It was a hard bumpy road, with lots of ups and downs, but it was WORTH THE FIGHT, WORTH THE SACRIFICE, WORTH ALL THE TEARS AND PAIN, TO GET TO THE OTHER SIDE. My part time job turned into full time, then my Teaching position turned into an Asst. Directors position, then that turned into a Directors position. And as of a few weeks ago I'm now the Executive Director. I went from living with my oldest son in one bedroom to my own home again, a new car, and the best news my daughter is now back in college. Sometimes I just sit back and say HOW DID I GET HERE? I STARTED WITH NOTHING!!
Well, a lot of PRAYING, a lot of support from family and friends, but mostly you have to BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!! AND FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU WANT! Don't give up, even when it seems so hard and you just can't go through another day. Fight your way back!!! DON'T YOU DESERVE IT? YOU ARE WORTH IT!! Don't let your ex be the end of your story, Because your story isn't over, there is so much more.

Lots of Hugs,

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

I'm thinking that few here ( if any) have had anything this extreme. You will be my inspiration going forward.
Take my story, Take the story of others here and let it lift you up, and give you the strength and the wisdom to know that we all hold the power with in ourselves, to make our lives MAGICAL!!! Good luck to you I'm here if you need anything.

I'm not on here too much any more but still stop in occasionally. I've switched from riding the divorce roller coaster to the unemployment roller coaster but even that is beginning to level out.
Continued best wishes to you,Disney.
May God continue to watch over you and guide you in this bright, new life! xoxox
Of revenge & how lucky your children are for moving onwards and upwards.
