Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Everybody is different. Do what works for you. Hugs!
Ignore the ass. If I meet with my stbx, I'm a mess. I am right now since I saw him today. He actually thinks one of his affairs was OK since he used a condom!
Indifference is the key if we can manage it. Please let us get to that. Hugs to you.
Protect yourself! It is horrible and against our beings, but your job is take care of yourself now! Try to take his attitude on of not caring! I know you do, but...it is best for you!
Stay strong and hang i there! Many hugs to you!
I know how you feel when they text like we are still together. You cant help but feel that little spark of familiarity, comfort , and love that still glows in your heart. I hope for all of us that God will distinguish that spark if that is His plan so we can get on with our lives.
I do send you prayers of peace, my friend.
We both care for each other but that is it. He will not do anything to work on marriage. He does not Love me but then I have gotten to that same indifference about him.
He will be over any minute to take car to make sure it is all ready for my trip to Cleveland and then stay here while I am gone to watch the animals. Do you not think knowing all this he would have something to say? Emotional Neglect .It truely screws my mind up.
Chrissy, it doesnt matter whether your husband is being oblivious of manipulative. Just thinking about this is a tie to him which you must gradually, and in many ways, disconnect. You are wise AND strong, and you know the direction you want to, or must, go. Take Courage from the Heart.
In the early months, I also believed being nice would be to my advantage when I got to court. I now realize, in all likelihood, the judge will simply split everything down the middle. I will be screwed emotionally and financially. Nothing I can do about it. Cowgirl is right--it all boils to money in the end.
Chrissy, you are smart not to answer him. He made this situation; let him live it. He wants it all: your friendship so he doesn't have to feel guilty, and he will have someone to chat with until the next "flavor of the month" comes along, and then you will be long forgotten.
Ignore him. Hugs to you. I know it's difficult.
It sounds Freudian but I think it could have some merit in your case (and mine). He comes to you for approval and support but wants to keep you at arm's length? It does sound like something a teenager would do when he is going through the separation process with his parents (mother in particular).
i always felt my husband was just a little too devoted and attentive to his mother. Do you feel the same way about yours?
