My wife left me after 38 years of marriage about 4 years ago and
I’m divorced for little over 2 years.
I am on D&S now for about 3 years .
It was a blessing to have found this site, to meet and get help and advice here from so many good people. Caring people !
They all made my life and divorce a little bit easier to deal with.

My heart so goes out to you. I remember having the same feelings you shared like they were just yesterday. I never thought they'd end and I would be sad the rest of my life. But DS got me through it. I know you said you aren't willing to share right now, and that's ok. But just know that this is a safe place. And the more you share, the sooner you get it out of you and your burden is shared.

When I first came on, I just read for about 2 months. maybe a comment here and there. And the more I read and the more people's comments were like what was going on my head, I started venturing out. And I have made the most amazing friends and have learned the most awesome things here on DS. From advice, to books to read, to humor, to hearing my heartfelt aches written in someone elses posts and realizing that my story of betrayal and hurt and abandonment wasn't the only one. I had a voice, and I had people who could relate, and people shared and loved and nurtured and over time, I gained strength.

It's a long proceess, and one that goes up and down like you said. But we are here for you and will help in any way we can.

Welcome Yorkie. This group helped me survive the first year post-divorce! I'm not going anywhere. The thing that keeps me coming here is that I learn something everyday! That quote by tobywinn is a great example. No one will pressure you to share anything before you want to. That being said, there is encouragement, advice and an occasional shoulder to cry on when you need it. (((Hugs)))). Diane

Sorry you find yourself in this situation. Big hugs to you for reaching out. Keep doing that. Take care of yourself if you haven't already made this a priority, do some things you love to do and connect with people who feed your soul, like support groups. It is amazing how many others can relate to our experiences, and how many have survived and thrived. Married 23 years and 2 months post divorce, I am starting to awaken someone I haven't given a voice to in a very long time. Myself. You can too.

It was helpful for me to have a plan for the times the rollercoaster hit bottom. What will you do, who will you call to help you when you hit a low. Be ready, expect the lows, and know that they come and they go. Let them go.
