Make sure the manager knows you are divorced..and he applied, although they can not say they did not hire him because he and you are divorced, they will make considerations. Put in on another shift. Not as easy to get hired at Walmart as some people think...or they may hire him at another store in the area if there is one. Hugs

AND Puter, I do not think you can read.. Shorty says she works at Walmart..you just cut her down with your " he can't even get a job at Walmart" AND cut me, as I am a considered a vendor at Walmart and in management, and contracted to Walmart. The biggest retailer in the world, who like it or love it. I love being there, I love the people that work there.. the very best. Your profile makes a dig about being what is offically known as door greeter.. There but by the grace of God go I..Thst is one of the hardest jobs there. and if you want to take me on, go ahead. Shorty..I think it was fabulous that your manager contacted you to let you know that she had received his application.It's good that she gave you a heads up on it. What an uncomfortable situation it would be for you both to work in the same store. I take it there isn't another Walmart store in your neighborhood where he could apply? We're lucky enough to have three Walmart stores in our area.
I'd just hate to have to see my x at work each day. Fingers crossed the job goes to someone else.

I didn't get the impression at all that Puter was making any fun of working at Walmart. I think he was referring back to Shorty's comment about her ex's arrogant comment. I know I don't have a problem with anywhere someone is making an honest living. I was a coffee shop waitress for nine years, a job many people look down on and I loved every minute of it.

Thanks guys. The ex lost his job about halfway through the divorce. He had written the company a couple nasty e-mails with some not so subtle threats. When the economy turned bad, they used that excuse to "set him free". We have had no contact since a week after the separation. He repeatedly told the courts that he couldn't shop there because of me. He was seen in the store at least once a week during the whole time. The manager is a dear friend and was there for me from the beginning of this nightmare. If he had applied for a different dept, that manager might not have recognized the name or knew the circumstances. I"m praying that he only applied thinking he wouldn't be hired in order to continue his unemployment benefits. After losing the company health insurance his medications went from $100 a month to over $800. Could be he decided maybe Walmart and I contributed a lot to his lifestyle???
