Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Hello everyone, all my old freinds and new people.
Happy Easter to all those who believe including myself.
Seems as I get older that the Easters come and go faster. Ha ha.
Spirituality for me , it's a great day. A Special day.
In my personsonal life...... Not to good. I won't see the Grandchildren just like the last 10 years.......I should be use to it by now, but...........Ohhhhhh, it still gets to me. I bought Easter cards for them. I always send them a gift ($). This year ..I don't know.. if if will send anything. They went on vacation a couple weeks ago and I gave them $$$$$. To spend and have a good time. ........I left a message with my GD about the gift a d to tell her brother.....Well, I never heard back......No "thank you Grandpa". And it's not the first time. I never get any holiday cards from them anymore. . I'm starting to feel like a fool .....Always giving. Soooooooo, I don't feel that good today, thinking about that. I bet the x gets cards ...And birthday gifts..... Oh well,. Anyway......... Tomorrow is Easter and I'll try to stay focused on the day. We're going out to eat somewhere. Don't have reservations yet....Kind of late......Anyway , it's just the wife and I. She has no familyy and niether do I. To speak of. I'm kind of feeling mad at my x .Because of her I lost all of that. In fact, I lost a lot. So, my freinds and new people , if you're fortunate enough to share Easter with family , a family member or freind ...Be thankfull ......Enjoy the day.
Like I said: I'll be with the wife and we'll be OK.....
Cards to the Grand kids.????? I don't know., I could just drop them off in their mailbox. But, I keep thinking. ...Why.

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

I haven't been logging on to D&S like I use to. I miss all my old freinds from here like you. I hope everyone is doing well.
God bless.... Bob
I too have been absent. Can't see what's new to me easily, can't make sense of the new format. Don't have time to fight it. Sorry to say, but DS has destroyed what was a life affirming, sometimes saving, support system. OK.... venting over, moving on..... LOL
Sorry to hear your family is still so inconsiderate. I think there's a generational thing going on here. I admit I'm not as good at thank you notes, etc. as my parents and grandparents were. My adult son will call or send an email to say thank you, but my teen nieces hardly say thank you when opening up a gift in person. I've NEVER gotten a response from something they received through the mail or dropped off to open when I'm not there.
At this point in time, I get to decide whether I want to continue giving them gifts or let them know I'm thinking of them with a simple card or note. To avoid any resentments, I'm making my decisions based on ZERO expectations of a thank you or reply of any kind. That leaves me free to send, or not send, based solely on what I want to do.
For now, I still like to get them Christmas and Birthday gifts whether I'll be with them or not. If I'm seeing them at other times of the year, I may bring a favorite food, treat or a small trinket I made for them, like a bracelet, or not.... depends on my mood.
Since I adopted this approach, they don't expect anything from me, I don't expect anything from them, but when we are together, we enjoy it. When we're not together, I don't get bothered. And the one time I got a note to say thank you, it blew my mind, in a very nice way.
Hope you had a blessed Easter, and wishes for serenity and peace in the Risen Christ.
