My son has called. I expect eldest daughter will too. This afternoon my very young grandsons are to be slaves for my second daughter and me. Lol. I expect many glasses of water and maybe some badly painted nails by this evening!!

Enjoy your mother's day. My mom passed away in Feb this year at 93.We had a love/hate relationship and I didn't think I would miss her, but I do. And one of my daughters I lost to divorce. I never mention I once had 3 children, a son. He died at 19 of diabetes, his first year living in a dorm away from home. Family is precious.

I'm sorry for your losses, jljlost. I lost my mum 4 years ago this month:( lost my other mother, my exMIL, last year. They left gaping holes but we are slowly finding our way forward.

My two girls cut me off after the divorce so I also know how that feels. My second daughter reconciled fairly quickly but my eldest did not return to me for 4 1/2 years:( the saddest years of my life. I hope your lost one will return one day, too.

I can't imagine what it must be like to lose a child as you lost your son. My heart goes out to you (((jljlost)))

My mother passedt away about 8 years ago . she was 92 .never been to a doctor or hospital for 50 or more years of her life. Always took an aspirin for whatever hurt her. God bless her and I will always miss her.
My x mil passed away a coup!e of years ago. Although she never talked to me after the divorce I did get to talk and see her in the hospital before she died. She and I always got along very well. It's a shame that my divorce caused us her to stop talking to me, but I understand that she had to stay by her daughter side......?even though she knew.......?her daughter was wrong. I'm sure that it hurt her very much not to see me. Anyway....., she was a great woman...and what a great cook ! Ha ha.

Call me crazy but I've always hated Mother's Day. It's pressure and expectations and usually disappointments no matter how much I tell myself it doesn't matter. And trying to focus just on my mom doesn't work either because deep down I long for my kids to care enough to make more effort. They are good kids but just don't get the Mother's Day thing. They give a card if they remember but it can be a long day spent waiting for some recognition. But the sun is out and it is beautiful! I wish a ver hapoy day to all of you. And kind thoughts to those who no longer have their mothers around

your exMIL should have at least one time told you that you didn't mistreat her daughter, when such would have helped you to cope
