Throughout the ordeal of my separation and divorce, everyone kept telling me I needed to get angry and stay angry. I understand that anger can be a good thing, especially when it motivates you to make needed changes in your life. Nevertheless, I just couldn't stay angry. In fact, I couldn't even get angry. Now, 2.5 years after that dreadful day, my anger is bubbling up to the surface. I don't understand what took it so long to arrive. Why now? I'm dealing with it, letting it come as it does, and talking and working through it. But, I'm just so baffled by the odd delay. Anyone else experience this?

I'm not an angry person by nature. But, all of a sudden I find myself aggravated and frustrated over the simplest of things. I felt this way toward the end of my marriage, but had no outlet for it. So, I guess I repressed it? I've changed absolutely every aspect of my life, mostly for the better. Some things not so much, but I'm working on it. So, what is the purpose of this anger at this point? Is it still a catalyst for change? Or, is it just one of the last vestiges of my old life working its way out of my system? Should I be alarmed?

Just about the time I think that I can't possibly be surprised by anything in this recovery process, I am humbled by something I never expected. Such is life.
