Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group

I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

I know most of us will be concentrating on getting our kids stuff for Christmas and even other family members, but if you could only get 1 gift for Christmas - what would it be.

It cannot be a wish, or a dream or your stbx - it has to be something someone gives you, something physical. A real present.

All I want for Christmas is my little red 2 seater.......but I guess I'll have to get it myself....I always had to buy my own gifts before so why should it be any different now that we are divorced....

I already bought myself a present - a heart necklace to replace the one that was stolen - it's lovely. I've asked my daughter for a coffee pot that brews one cup at a time.

I got lucky and found a house to rent for the same price as an apartment would be and I will be signing the lease today. A change of scenery for the new year 2009 !!

I have been a really good girl this year (I think exceptional... lol) and I would be so happy if for Christmas I could get a trip to Tahiti and a service boy named Juan to bring me drinks and fan me whenever I want..... oh, okay, I will just settle for Juan if that is asking too much.

Hmm - mine didn't ask for pictures of the kids when he left- but he too took the camera!!

Seriously, I'd like my house to sell. That would give me enough to buy the small one round the corner outright- much cheaper to heat and maintain and no rent/ morgage. More than that- somewhere he would never have entered.

failing that - a good book!
