I know I have talked a lot about my struggles lately (losing my Dad) and it has been a difficult couple of months. What I didn't tell you is that a nice man started talking to me from a Christian singles group. He talked me through some pretty dark hours in that last week and I agreed to a date when I got back to town. The date was Friday night and we laughed and had fun (dinner and a movie). We agreed that we enjoyed the evening and would like to do it again and we have a date planned for next weekend. Can I just say I'm petrified? I know this sounds funny coming from me, a woman who would pick up and move 1900 miles away and not bat an eye but I just feel so out of place. I don't feel out of place with him but dating seems so foreign to me. I haven't dated in 23 years. I've had a date here and there but I made sure that I didn't go out with anyone who lived close so there wasn't much of a chance of a second or third date. Yes, I admit this. So here my thought process. How do I proceed? Does it just come naturally or should I beware of particular pitfalls? If he takes my breath away, is it him or is it just the fact that he is interested in me and I haven't felt that way in so long? Now mind you I'm not saying he does. I just want to know more guidelines from those of you who have been there and done that.

And for you newbies, I remember reading this coming from other members when I first started in this group. I remember thinking I will never get to that point. And guess what? Here I am in that place where I said I would never get to.
