Very Close in age actually.....scared the crap out of me...

Well you know I have my older gentleman friend, and he is 73 and I am 54.. but we are just friends, though at the beginning he was probably looking for something more.

I am a little teeny bit older than his oldest daughter. He is too old for me. I think the gap catches up a bit as you get older, but this gap is too large. He is in good shape, better than most guys but he was married young, divorced, and then remarried now widowed, and both marriages were 25 years plus..he doesn't like being alone.. but I was a hippie child and he is a very straight almost square guy married at 18.. and in many ways I am too old for him..smile!

I know a lot of guys who have dated women 12 to 15 years younger than them and a lot depends on what you have in common.. and what age they were when the Beatles first played in the USA is a common benchmark.. If she wasn't born yet, might be too young for people our age! At least that is what a few men have told me! As I always say, what is she bringing to the table and vise vera.. Hugs sweet Pemdcat..

Dear sweet Pemdcat I totally agree with Ms Terey. Sounds to young. If you are going to dinner as friends and just to have fun...enjoy yourself. But if you are looking to "date" her for a relationship I would not suggust to go. We have to look for our future. Where will you be in 10 years? Where will that put her? I also know what I am talking about as my estranged husband is 18 years older than I am.

If it's just a date, no big deal. Can you handle people asking if this is your daughter? Can you handle running into your daughter while you are with her? Can you handle running into friends or coworkers while you are out with her? If you'd feel foolish, don't go.

For me, and I'm 51, I'd consider 50-60 years old. Keep us posted.

It is a dinner date, I could give a rats about what others think , except M, I may ask her opinion first...I may just go and see what it's all about. There is this restuarant that I want to try....maybe...I will let you know.... I'm going to take time to think about it, part of me says GO for it. the other is way more reserved..... I told the young lady that I would talk to her in afew days....

pemcat, just to share my last relationship was with someone half my age,it did not work out but I do not regret it either, as my boss said to me...when I was agonizing over this.. who would I be hurting...if the answer is nobody ...then why not...

Just figure out what scared you first than go from there.

Jack , I guess I look at it like this; 1 It is a compliment. 2 You weren't out looking for a young woman to date she approached you . I say go ahead , who cares what others think (besides your daughter of course). Have fun you only have one life so live it. We love ya Jack and nobody would think any thing different of you for it. If nothing more you will be teaching her a lesson on how a real man treats a lady....

Everyone needs company and the age difference is just a number. Loneliness is a killer.
Enjoy yourself after all its a dinner date not someone asking for your blood.

While in the Emergency Room this afternoon M and I had a discussion regarding this....she respects my decision whatever it may be...M did have concerns as to why and if I am mistreated (like a sugar daddy)she will be pissed but M is OK with it....I then told her that IF I go it is dinner.....

ooo why did you end up in the emergency room? Hope everything is okwith you and M?
