Well today was the first day that my husband "stopped by" to say hello. He brought cookies from his Mom and a steak bone for the dog. My daughter was home but our son was working. He had a very short conversation with her (because she won't talk to him) and then he and I sat on the porch and had an easy, general conversation. I didn't force the issue of us on him. I just wanted to keep it light and general. I have to tell you this is very hard because all I wanted to do was hold him and show him how much I love him. He already knows this so there's no reason to push the point across. He asked me how I was doing and I replied that I'm hanging in there. So this is a the start of my new approach that I mentioned earlier. Don't get me wrong - I'm not so dillusional that I think this is the miracle cure. I just know that I have to give it one last shot before the divorce lawyers are hired. The kids and I leave for Florida Saturday and he will be staying at our house alone. It will be the first time he'll have time alone since he left 2 months ago. Staying at his parents house doesn't offer much alone time. I plan on leaving little suttle reminders of what he left behind. Things like my nightie in the bathroom, a little of my perfume on the sheets, leaving a batch of my spaghetti (which he loves) in the fridge. If anyone has any pointers in this area I'm all ears.

I can't be of any help here. I would leave a knife in the bed that would fly up and say Lorena Bobbit was here. As it would cut my stbx's penis off. Ok, I do sound pissed tonight.

Hi Chrissy, my story is the same as yours, just change the names. I was married 30 years and we did the same thing you are talking about. I came back home and within 2 weeks he left. We did the visiting thing etc. to no avail. I hope it works for you, just do not get your hopes up because if it doesn't work you will be devastated all over again as I am. Please do not get me wrong I do wish you the best. I just hate to see you hurting again.

Chrissy, I admire your strength and attitude. Saving the marriage is the best choice, if everyone agrees to work at it. I wouldn't wish the last year of my marriage on anyone. If it works, it's wonderful and if it doesn't, then you know that you did everything in your power to make it work and you will have no regrets. The ball is in his court now, you have done all you can. Be strong, keep a clear head and see things for what they are and not what you want them to be.

Chrissy I really hope this works for you.. i have to say a wise one told me once that before you leave a relationship you should be able to say to yourself, that you did everything in your power to make it work.. then if it doesn't you will have no regrets.. you did your best, you tried your hardest..perhaps this is what you need to do to get to that point... Thanks to all for the good wishes. One line really stuck out to me from tibi - "keep a clear head and see things for what they are and not what you want them to be". I think this may be my problem. My head tells me it's over, but my heart cannot accept it. I know I've got to try this final attempt to keep my marriage, if it doesn't work out, then I know I've done my best and there is nothing else I can do to change his mind.
