I agree with the formula given by others...I am 5 years post divorce and am doing really well. For me....the first 3 years were the worst but I tend to be a bit slower than some. Healing is a process...one that is unique to you...as Kamary mentioned...allow yourself time to grieve...be with the emotions and feel them. Cry if you need to cry...yell if you need to yell...swear if you need to swear...its healthy to let it out. I used to do my worst yelling and swearing while I was driving...lol...I am so glad no one could hear me...but it felt good to get it out.

I equated my grieving similar to with drawls from cigarettes...it's brutal and relentless at first but as time goes by it gets less in intensity and the intervals become further and further apart. Before you know it you hardly think about it until a life event reminds you....then you go through it again only it doesnt last nearly as long and nowhere as intense. You are learning to live without your ex...even if the relationship was bad...you were dependant on his presence and interaction. You will be fine broken...in fact...I can assure you...you will thrive in time. Just be gentle with yourself and allow yourself to feel your way through it...better days are coming....Big Hugs...Kathy
