Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
"Wheelbarrows won't roll into a manure spreader."
They WILL if you build a RAMP to push the wheelbarrow onto! That's what I did...used some scrap 4x4's and part of a sheet of heavy-duty plywood. Saved time and my aching back, too! Just an idea for you to consider. My "rule of thumb" is Work Smarter -- Not Harder.
I feel wimpy because I run a treadmill instead of the pavement. Treadmills are easy. When I "run" if you can call it that on a treadmill, I also work the machines to weight lift. Sometimes I join my daughter or daughter-in-law in a Zumba, kickboxing, or piyo class after that. I'm really happy that I can keep this up while working. I also teach Yoga in an after school program now, then go to a Yoga class every Saturday and Wednesday.
I think when you join a gym, you tend to go more so you don't waste your membership.
I've been bad the last three days. Because of my spider bite and my poison oak, I've avoided the gym because my skin ooks really bad and I don't want people to think I'm inconsiderate and I am spreading something around. So I've only been running at a little park near our home. Like I said, it's harder on pavement and definite hills so I don't go as far. I have been walking the dogs on longer trails though. It's been nice for them.
I've also been winterizing and brought my agapanthus into the house instead of waiting for STBX to do it. They would probably freeze if I waited for him!! They're in two big pots and have grown considerably larger and heavier since the spring, but I kept thinking of Kathi mowing hay, DairyTech building her own picket fence and all the other strong women on here so I just did it!
I pampered myself by sitting outside in the sun soaking up warm rays while I read a book. It felt great! I heard the pileated woodpecker, but didn't see it. Today was sunny as well, but on the brisk side.
I didn’t know that there was going to be a another thread “My goals 2 week” .
Makes sense week 1, 2, 3, 4, DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
I’m glad to see that it’s only the beginning of week 2. I have a lot of time left to complete my eBay goal .
Like I stated the last time: I purchased a photo software program and I’m learning it. I have an instruction book that’s about an inch thick with about 400 pages. So, I’m only reading up on the parts that I need to use for the purses editing, which is the basics of editing. I’m coming along with it. I will be so happy when I list my first purse….. it’s been so , so long….. It may not sound like a big deal to anyone else, but for me it’s a big accomplishment.
Didn’t do much this week end ….when away over night to Wisconsin .
I was laughing when I read all the threads about weight loss… You guys are funny …. I never heard about deep fried snickers bars. OMG….
Remember that I need to lose some weight too. All in my stomach. It’s beginning to hinder my dancing.. I need to lose about 2 ½ inches in my waist … I really do…….
I did dance this week, but not enough. I feel to fat and then I sit down more… I may have to find a place to dance on Wed, nights. Right now it’s all on the week ends.
Soooooooooooooooooooooo, good luck to everyone…. I’ll say it again:
You girls are amazing………… so much energy that you have .. such determination.
Ok… back to my purses… (Selling that is. LOL)

As for the manure debate; our solution was to pick a spot away from the barn and wheelbarrow the manure to it. After the pile gets so big call the neighbor with his tractor and scoop and spreader to come get it. One year I chose to pile it around my vegetable bed and then before the snow fell tilled it into my garden. Worked great, and mellowed the manure before planting season. But, I only had two horses and a very big garden.
I would love to be twenty pounds lighter. I need to get in some real exercise. My weight lifting involves raising a dessert ladened fork to my mouth! With my daughter's wedding less than a year away I better get crackin'. When I am really trying to be conscious of my eating habits I use a free web site call fitday. I have learned a lot about my eating habits and what I need to take the pounds off.
Anyone have an idea of what to do with a pile of green tomatoes that does not include battering and frying and is still edible?
As for exercise, I FINALLY found my samba, merengue and salsa CD I thought I had lost. I bought it used on Amazon and it's over an hour long...such a great deal! Now I've got to back to dancing to it!
I had to scoot out of there at 9:15 to get to town to make my 9:45 acupuncture appointment. I have appointments made through the end of December at that same time. It has helped my spine issues so much, I am NOT cancelling them for this little dancearound job.
Finished up my session and hit the road back to work by 11:15. Got behind 2 school buses (must have been a field trip day or something) but still got back to the job by 11:30. I worked through the scheduled lunch hour because I only committed to work 5 hours a day. I wasn't hungry, anyway.
Worked until 3:00 and was SO GLAD to be getting out of there! Next Monday, I'm just going to wait and go into work AFTER my acupuncture session. I don't like all that driving back and forth and it breaks my "focus" to split up my day like that.
About 5:30 I headed for the barn. Tom feeds Rio in the mornng when I work, but because his ankle still isn't 100%, he leaves the poop cleanup for me. It's ok. One horse = one wheelbarrow full per day. Rio was glad to see me! If the sun decides to come out tomorrow (oh how I hope it does!) I will work her in the roundpen for about 30 minutes when I get home from work at 12:00.
Then I have to drive to Catonsville for my twice yearly checkup with the periodontist. If you could burn up calories driving around, I wouldn't need to be cutting back on eating!
