You go, hold your head up and be proud. Your son is graduating.. You have done well. I am sure you will do it with class.. As for "them" let them see you are happy, proud and could care less .. Hope it makes her squirm a bit.. I am not sure i would go overboard with kindness.. Me, I would just make them invisible unless they talk to me.. then i would be polite and move on.. but then i do not trust my emotions to go much further.. Have a great weekend..

I must admit that hearing about your son's graduation brings sudden fears of panic to me. My son will graduate next year. As of now, the OW has no contact with my kids at all and I hope it stays that way. My kids have made it clear to me that they wants no parts of her, and if they see her, I imagine it won't be pretty for her. My kids are 20 and 17. But on the otherhand, I know a lot can change in a year.

I give you an enormous of credit and imagine that you are a very strong woman. Congratulations on your son's graduation and the fact that we all know here that you will hold your held up high. They are the ones that should feel uncomfortable, not you. Enjoy your son's moment.

Soooo how'd it go?

Thank you everyone! Yes, they slithered off as usual. They weren't there 1 minute after the graduation. So I have nothing to report from last night. It was a wonderful night. Now the hard part will be Saturday. The OW will not acknowledge my presence. So we will see how it goes. Misted, are you sure you aren't a minister? You have the most amazing gift for words in prayer. All of you are amazing! Thankyou!!!!

Thinking about you. I am dreading that day when my stbx and his skank will be at the same place I am. I hope I can be like you and hold my head up high and not run off crying for everyone to see. Hope everything went great and you were the one to shine.

It went great! My MIL would not allow her to misbehave and she is trying to make an impression on my MIL. I am still SURE that I am living in an episode of Reba. She is the image (both physically and personality-wise) of Barbara Jean. My X always put me down as a joke and it always made him look like a jerk with me. It almost fits with her. He looks horrible and they so deserve each other. Remember years ago when I use to say I wished for apathy when it comes to the X (because I always said apathy is the opposite of love, not hate). Well I am there. I have no feeling toward the X. I feel bad for my inlaws. They HATE how loud she is. Anyway it was absolutely fine. Thank you all! I'm sure all of your words, hugs and prayers have brought me to this place!

I just got home again and found this post, Di. I am so happy for you that you enjoyed your son's performance and that the dinner went so well. Taking the high road can be soo satisfying:)

OMG - how I feel for you. My son graduated last year - and his dad came into town to attend. Fortunately, we avoided the OW and any of his friends - but just having to sit next to him - gack. My plan would be to show up early and find seats where your ex and his entourage can't sit with you. Also - make sure you have someone you trust lined up on the camera so that there is at least one good picture of you with your son. My ex grabbed the camera when it was my turn for photos, and not one is unblurred. So take your support person with you -- and plan well to avoid dealing with them. My wish for you is that there is no party where all must attend. We solved this by having one parent do one day and the other the next.
