I don't know what kind of band you had or what the quality or weight of the gold in it was, but $10 doesn't sound like much. I think I would get a good jeweler to look at it. That will give you a better idea of what it might be worth.

Was it fake?

I didn't sell my wedding ring because I'm giving it to my daughter. It's a cluster of small diamonds and doesn't look like a traditional wedding ring. I did sell my class ring, a gold band, tangled bracelet and necklace on eBay for scrap gold and for about 500 for it. I had a friend who sells on eBay. Cash for gold place only wanted to give a couple of hundred dollars, but the info I got from them helped with the selling. She told me what the carat was and weight. Then we looked at the market price for scrap and sold it all together.

I haven't sold my diamond or my band yet-they are in a friend's safe. People keep saying I should keep them-maybe for one of the kids-but in my book they are tainted.

I sent the rings back to him. They weren't worth much in monetary value and diamond was too small to recognize (haha) always told me someday he'd get me something nice since we didn't have much starting out. Actually eloped but married in a church. Anyways. He has them. I didn't want to pass down to my daughter since the marriage now had a black cloud thought the rings were meaningless now. But as far as other jewelry he had given me (not much) I sold it when I moved 1,000 miles away. Didn't want the memories and needed the money. I did keep one ring from our 10 year anniversary that had a nice setting and a ruby in it. Don't wear it. Should probably sell it too.

I kept the engagement ring, I paid for it because he did not have the money or a credit card on him that day. I remember he had to bring his mother along. Red flag big time. It was a boxing day sale and I got it for less than half price. But all the rest, sold. I did not care what I got for it. I just sold them. I might get it reset and maybe I will wear it. If not, I will sell it.

I am sorry but yes, I might get another estimate on that as well. It has a lot to do with weight.

I sold all of it. Sometimes I am sorry that I won't have it to give to my girls, but I agree, it was all tainted in the end....beautiful, but ick.

I am thinking that I might buy some pieces over the years and put them back for the girls to have one day.

When my aunt divorced...she took her wedding bands and had them made into a beautiful necklace. She said it represented her life journey and not the idiot it was connected to. :)
