I am new to the site. Read many of the posts. The stories are scary and yet inspiring. I am had 2 attacks pretty close together about 4 years ago and now another 2 attacks very recently and in one right now. One of my biggest challenges is what to eat when. I had a small possible abscess of 1.5 cm. I was on clear liquids for 4 days and bounced off to chicken, a few baby potatoes. Thinking that may have been a mistake. Does anyone have a reasonable timeline and diet for what to eat when? I am impatient. I am being careful to not due fiber, but also am sure I don't want to eat anything like a steak. They just say "transition back to a high fiber diet when you start feeling better". Well I started feeling better day 1 of the antibiotics. I know every case is different, but any basic guidelines would be appreciated/

You don't want to eat meat for at least 2 weeks after doming off a liquid diet- meat is the hardest thing to digest. I came across this on Facebook-called Pain Free Foods Support Group. They also have a website:www.diverticulitispainfreefoods.com They use a combined way of eating and you can’t eat certain foods with other. I ordered the book and started the plan. I also keep a food journal to see what is causing my flare-ups. Believe me its a different way of eating, but I get a lot of recipes off Pinterest ( I went vegetarian). I also take 2 different Probiotics, Udo’s oil 3-6-9, Turmeric, Magnesium, K2, COQ10, a greens powder, slippery elm, before I eat at every meal, and just started CBD oil. I feel great now, it took some time like I said to figure it out, but NO SURGERY for me. And those antibiotics, I tell the hospital I’m allergic to them (they are awful). Get the book and do the way of eating, its explained in the book, we are different then normal people and will have this disease for life, so try it what have you got to lose- Good luck!

Thanks, I have been looking for a good diet plan, and not just a few recipes. I was recovering and got a little overzealous with the fiber. Drank a few glasses of this very gritty powder. Holy cow I paid for that. Almost thought I was having a complete re-flare up. Has slowly gotten better on its own when I went soft on my diet again. I ordered the book and tea just now. I do a few of the things on your list up there and have doubled down on a few of them since my last episode. Mostly because of the antibiotics. I can handle Augmentin but I refuse to take levoquin or cipro
