If you track it down, there are literally NO studies supporting the idea that there are things all DD patients should avoid.
There is apparently not a single case of an autopsy of someone that has diverticulitis showing a seed in them btw.
I still avoid raw seeds at any cost despite this study.
The longest I went without and attack was a year and a month. This was after my last attack which nearly killed me. Since that last attack I had quit eating land animals and cheese and avoided processed foods. I don't know if my vegetarian diet (I did eat fish regularly and eggs occasionally) abated further attacks but in my mind I believe it did. The bottom line is everyone is different and has his/her own experiences with diet. Keep a journal of what you eat and how you feel the following day and use it as a guide. And listen to what your GI tract tells you.
