Sorry to be on here complaining again but I am so tired of being in pain.
I have had abdo pain since june last year with hardly a day break.
Today it has increased dramatically & I have had the runs. Very unusual for me as I have been constipated for months & laxatives dont work.
I went to my gp (who is usually good) & said I think I am having an attack of diverticulitis as the pain is lots worse & I have had several bowel goes already & it was only 1.40pm. She said & I quote "If you were having diverticulitis attack you would be doubled over in pain & not able to walk & have a high fever". Also your pain is on right & if it was diverticulitis it would be on the left.
I very rarely get a temperature no matter how sick I am & she knows this. I do push through the pain barrier as have to to be able to function every day.
At that stage I hadnt been very nauseous just in pain & diaroeah(sp?)
fast forward to now which is about 6 hours later & the pain is heaps worse, painful to walk, sit etc. I feel like I would vomit if I eat anything & keep running to the loo, sometimes dont actually need to go much, other times it is getting very runny (sorry for too much detail). I have more leakage than usual (incontinence from ms).
I just feel like curling up in a ball & crying. I have had enough.
Does this sound like diverticulitis to any of you? I have gone on liquid diet today already as too much pain.

2 Years ago I had an Attack...was NOT Diverticulitis, but plain ole'Diverticulosis...NO Treatment, THAT Attack was MUCH Worse then my D-Itis Attack...MUCH. I Dropped ove 30 Pounds in 3 weeks...was BAD...but nothing was Wrong.
Pain & Symptoms do NOT Always match what is going on inside ya.
Go back In...insist on Labs.
I took a gastrostop & that stopped the diaroeah but not the pain. The pain is now very severe on both sides so if she tells me it is nothing I am going to crack it in the office. I need something other than pain killers.
I took an endone - morphine last night & it only eased the pain for about 4-5 hours then it was back.
Hopefully I will get some relief soon. Hubby stayed home today & is taking me to dr as he needs to see Dr too for a certificate to be able to drive with high blood pressure.

I went to GP today & she did a proper examination & listened to me. She said that I am definately having diverticulitis flare up & put me on the 2 different antibiotics & enough for 10 days of each. She said 7 days is not enough.
She couldnt comment on the other Dr (same clinic) just said you (me) know your body & when something is wrong. She also gave me a referral to a different gastroenterologist closer to home which I had asked for & been refused yesterday. I at least want to speak to a different dr & find out some more options to relieve the constant pain I have had for 12 months.
Hope for improvement over the weekend.
By the way when I had my diverticulitis attack I had no fever but it was diverticulitis.You don't always have to have a fever.
Got to try to go to work tomorrow & not looking forward to that with the pain I am still in but had friday off too.
