I will tell you that after my perforation (I was able to luckily wait a few months for surgery) nothing worked right. But after surgery, all got SO MUCH better.
She started drinking ?actimel (good bacteria) drinks today and visits to the loo have lessened - fingers crossed tonight will be more restful for her too.
She is seeing the consultant in about 3 weeks time for a follow-up colposcopy ( I think that's what it's called- anyway it's the camera!) so I guess she will know more then... Just wasn't sure shaft to expect really, and the hospital don't really send you away with any info...
