Also with the low fiber diet, I learned the hard way it is extremely important to eat small meals--about the size of half a sandwich.
Everyone is different on how long to stay on the low fiber diet. Usually 2-4 weeks before you start back with fiber.
If your pain comes back ---go back to clear liquid till pain goes away. Low fiber for awhile, then start slowly with the fiber.
Oatmeal or Oat bran is a really good way to start back with the fiber and leave the insoluble fiber such as broccoli till later.
Even after the attack is over some people find to much fiber is not a good thing. Listen to what your body tells you. Maybe keep a food diary. If something causes pain, do not eat it again.
