low blood pressure etc

Ever since my attack and infection...my blood pressure has been low. It is an acceptable limit but unusually low. Took a test at the pharmacist's suggestion and it was 128 over 70 and he said that was good.
Also, I have an awful prob passing gas. I can feel the discomfort of the gas pains but to no avail. I tried GasX and it helps but says on the package not to use for more than 2 weeks. I am afraid of straining to pass gas or to have a BM...coz they said that is what caused the rupture in my diverticulae in the first place, I was straining really hard and almost immediately after had the severe pain. Any comments or suggestions?? Thanks so much,

I am not a doctor but I thought I read a couple of times, then when you can't pass gas it may be the appendix. Usually after an attack there is no trouble passing gas. In fact that's the problem, at least for me. (with all the fiber being added). I would call the doctor. How about stool softeners to relieve the straining? I have that problem also. I always have to strain somewhat. Your blood pressure sounds terrific. Hope you get relief soon.

128/70 is really not low. My "Normal" is 90 something/50something. I don't get Dizzy or anything..but it does Concern me a bit.

I Too get the Inability to Pass gas from Time to Time, and can make ya Very Uncomfortable, I have never found relief for this..I get pains all thru my Core, all the way up into my Shoulders if it goes on for days..I try to Just Walk alot..idk how to help you with that, as I have never found relief myself, it has always just righted itself after awhile...I Cannot eat much in the way of Spice, even tho I Love it..that does seem to Trigger it for me.

I would Keep a Food Journal, after awhile perhaps a Pattern will show up for you so you know what you can & cannot have..

Thanks Dakota and Carryall...yesterday I eliminated coffee and drank a lot more water and did not have a Sprite with my dinner...and today I am passing more gas and have not had cramping...at least not very much. So, I guess it IS a bit of trial and error to find out where your comfort level is and what you can or cannot tolerate. Otherwise I am sticking to the "diet" given me by the hospital to the "T"...and I don't mind...it is not that bad and anything is better than another painful attack. You guys are the greatest !!!
