Just started a new job and my first week training out of state, had intense pain which after CT turned out to be Diverticulosis. Urgent care Physician said no infection so nothing they could do but refer me to GI doc. Should it hurt this bad? I would hate to see what the infected version is like! 


Its been really rough physically trying to train for my new position and don't want them to think I'm a pansy but lifting and especially stooping or trying to sit is excrusiating! I did clear liquids which helped a lot but when I brought food back, the pain returned. I have to eat at some point in life and simple oatmeal brings pain. Any advice? Do I need to juice/fast for longer than 2 days? TIA!

Try this- its called painfreefoods.com- they have learned over time that its certain foods can't be eaten with other foods- they also have a Facebook page- I have been on it now for a month and no pain!!!! the pain is awful! and for me I don't want to have to go thru it no more- so I am trying this. I also followed a book called Listen to your gut- but I really think its the food combining-check it out

I'm so glad I clicked on the site and read your post. The exact thing happened to me two years ago. Went to the doctor with side pain. He ran a CT and it showed diverticulosis, not diverticulitis. He then suggested a colonoscopy, which I did. It came out clear except for the diverticulosis. I also didn't think that diverticulosis was supposed to cause pain. I remember he gave me antibiotics though and the thorough cleaning before the colonoscopy seemed to help the pain along with the antibiotics, I guess. But now I'm beginning to hurt again. Never really stopped but it's worse now. Does your back hurt and does your stomach swell? I'm beginning to worry that it's more than diverticulosis It's scary. I worry about ovarian cancer. I don't know what to eat either. I'm going to check out the site that the person who replied to this post suggested. I have a doctor's appointment Tuesday because my BP has been running high and I guess I will talk to him again about it.

Jewl12, back and stomach pain yes and I look 6 months pregers most of the time. The CT scan also saw ovarian fibroids so if you had a CT scan (with the stuff you drink not just IV) would they have seen ovarian problems? I'm checking out the food grouping and site also, it is scary and I can't see this being my life with all this pain. Prayers to you and let's believe for answers and solutions!

Yes! Unfortunately we don't have "normal" intestinal lining like most people- we are different and we have to eat different- I bought the tea also=so soothing- hope you can find some relieve in the food combining and the swelling will go down also

My CT was just with the IV. I read the report as best as I could and it seemed ok except diverticulosis. It did say the uterus was ok, so I guess it would have seen ovarian problems. Not sure. Mentioned some degeneration in the disks. Not surprising. Have arthritis. Also mentioned a Hiatal hernia. I usually go to the bathroom really regularly if I eat an apple every night and salad but not lately. Not going as well as usual. Now I'm afraid to eat those things anyway. Vicious circle.
