Diverticulosis can also cause pain, bloating...diarrhea...cramping..what I would go by is Tenderness thru the abdomen..whether I "Feel Ill at Ease"..anxious...I always felt anxious in the days prior to my attack..

Fever..just Icky Feeling all the way around to me.

Well, I went to the doctor because the week end is now. They ran blood work (all good) and for now she says its a UTI. I don't know what that would have to do with the colon and me having to go all the time, but she gave me Cipro. I am actually feeling better this morning.
Nothing at all hurt when pressing on abdomen. The pain and cramping was all deep inside. She did say if I got worse to go immediately to the ER. She seemed more concerned about my appendix than diverticulitis. She says she had appendicitis and had to go and nothing came out.

I'm wondering the same exact thing!

I went to the ER last night because I had general abdominal pain, cramping, and nausea. Due to my history of diverticulitis, they performed a CT scan. Said they found acute colitis, but no sign of diverticulitis.

I'm so confused!

I'm back on Cipro and Flagyl. I'm already feeling much better, but really wanting to get my "gut" back to good health and I'm not sure how to do it. I feel like I'm doing everything right, but my infection seems to be lingering.

It turns out I had no UTI. Don't know what I had. This is so confusing.
I suppose colitis would be better than diverticulitis, I don't know. But you're taking the same meds. How long are you taking them for? Hopefully this will finally take care of your infection.

The ER doctor gave me 7 days of Cipro and 10 days of Flagyl.

I have a follow-up appointment with the GI doctor tomorrow. I was relieved when they said colitis rather than diverticulitis. Not sure why. I am pretty much doing the same thing though - liquid diet, progressing to low residue, etc.

I feel like I mucked with my bacterial balance of my colon and am worried it's going to be hard to return it to good health.

I take a probiotic when I am done with my meds. I use a good one. That really seems to help. This all can be so discouraging. Maybe I had colitis. I just don't know, but it did get better with the Cipro.

So so visit at the GI office today. They may want to perform another colonoscopy after I finish the antibiotics! They said that the only way they can truly diagnosis colitis is by going back in and taking a a sample of the lining of my colon. Ugh!

Still progressing the information. I'm trying to figure out whether I should get a second opinion.

Oh...I don't like that at all. I am so tired of colonoscopies. These doctors should check for that the first time around.
