Hi everyone! I just joined this group as I want to share my experience with others! I was told over 17 years ago that I had diverticulii but did not have any of them inflamed unitl after I had the 3rd colonoscopy back in 2013, due to preventative measures of colon cancer my grandmother was diagnosed with. Two months after my colonoscopy I got real sick and was told in the Emergency Room(ER) that I had diverticultis and then two months after that was in the (ER) with the same pain and found that i had an abscess on my colon and that it need to be removed. However they could not remove it at the time due to the inflammation and had to behosptitalized for one week during xmas and then sent home on high dosage of antibiotic for 3 more weeks. I then had more pain as the absess got bigger and had to have emergency surgery and ended up with a colostomy bag. I was devastated and had to live with the bad for 7 months before they resectioned me and have had issues with my colon every since.
Anyone out there have had a similiar experience? I know that having diverticulits is very painful as I had gastritis several times after my resection.....

Its all in the way to combine our foods -Its an awful disease- I have been on the food grouping now since Oct. I am still trying to see what my "trigger foods are" but for the most part its been good
