Can a clear liquid diet cause bloating and stomach pain?

All I can say for certain is my liquid diet never caused me to get bloated or stomach pain.
My bloating always went down as soon as I started the liquid diet and went away.
I would say if the liquid diet doesn't seem to be helping in a couple of days--or less to go to the ER.

I had to stop the liquid diet because all of the bloating and extra acid in my stomach caused me a lot of discomfort as well as nausea. I am so bloated right now that I look pregnant. :( I was at the mall and had two iced drinks which are made of crushed ice and flavor syrup. Even with those the abdominal pain came back. I've also episodes where it felt like my colon was going through dry heaves like you do when your stomach is upset. I would go to the bathroom but nothing would happen. I really do appreciate all of your advice. I was really hoping the liquid diet would work.

I think you should go back to the ER. Just doesn't sound right.
