Hello, my name is Beth and I have several mental disabilities...depression, bipolar with psychosis, anxiety, PTSD, panic disorder with agoraphobia, cognitive disorder, personality disorder..also I have sacroilitis, SI joint dysfunction, Lg. S. Facet Joint arthropathy...I am on medication for my mental issues but I can't work. I have chronic pain due to the back issues. Because of my mental issues, my partner of 6 years has to take over the financial responsibilities...I get too stressed out and go into a psychosis state when my stress level gets too high. I have been hospitalized several times, i have had ECT treatments that have caused memory problems so I have to be reminded to take meds, shower, ect...my life is no where I had expected it to be 10 years ago...
what I am asking is, is there anyone out there that can help me prepare for my hearing, I have a really good lawyer and I met with him on friday and we went over what would happen. But every time I try to prepare myself and ask myself why can't I work I panic and go blank...I really need to win this case I have been trying since 2009. Is there anyone out there that knows what kind of questions they ask for mentally disabled people? If so could someone help me? I am really scared and nervous...as the days get closer my anxiety gets more intense...yesterday I got to the point I couldn't breathe and thought I was going to black out...

this most likely has not arrived in time to help you...sorry for that, I just joined for reasons of my own and need to talk to some one. BUT, I have been thru the process in Ca. not sure where you are located but it should be the same process. It does take a VERY long time I grant you that, I finally got a answer a little over a yr ago and I started the process on 2008. The questions actually are pretty simple. 1st off the judge looked at all of my drs notes and limitations, asked me a few questions about my condition and how it hindered me in the work force. He then asked a independent guy what kinds of work was out there overall that I could do with my limitations and the condition. The judge gave him like 3 different senerios to use for conditions and after he looked them all up, he told the judge with the situation at hand there was NOTHING that I could do to keep gainful employment. Then the Judge told he they would let me know in a couple of weeks. Next thing I know I got the award notice in the mail. BUT I can tell you this it took a toll on my relationship that I had until a few months ago.
