i started from 200 lbs and currently at 178 lbs, and my goal wt is 120 lbs and my happy wt is 140 lbs
i really want such moment to come in my life, i will remember ur story from this moment and recall it in my mind..........
Unfortunately I have been pushing the edge of 14 again because of dietary indiscretions over the holidays. But, I am back on track again and I look forward to the day I can put on a size 10 (heck, maybe even an 8!!!) - hopefully by July. :)
The holidays have killed me also. I gained 5 pounds (and have lost it again), but now I keep cheating and am unable to lose anymore. I hope by remembering why it is worth it I will be able to get back on track.
I am still shopping in plus sizes but I am just so happy that there are way more stores that I can go into without just looking at the accessories, now I can look at the clothes too!
I still have 35lbs before I conquer my first big goal of hitting 200. But stepping down from each mini milestone has been an amazing feeling too. First was getting out of the 300s, then gradually reaching weights that I remember from my past, like when I hit 280 (my college graduation weight), then 260 (my high school graduation weight), and when I lose the next 5 and can say I have lost 100 I will be back at my freshman college year weight (because I was the oddball who lost weight freshman year instead of gained lol). Any weight I record under 230 will be a completely new experience for me.
I love your post allison34509, and I think it's extremely important that you addressed how much we all can be our own biggest critics and that possibly our goal weights need to be set higher then what we previously thought. I think so many are concerned with what medical charts tell us or maybe even just a preconceived notion of what our weight should be in comparison to others or what we see out in the media. When I was 230, obviously I was still "overweight" according to charts, but I was happy and healthy and I looked good. Currently my clothing size is already a bit smaller now then it was back then and while I am still going to continue with my plan, my goal is 200 which is not a typical weight for someone to choose to end at but because of my height and build I know I will look very well and healthy at that higher weight.
I think (while obviously keeping open communication with our doctors) we need to reach a weight that is healthy for us, as individuals and not a statistic on a chart, and is also comfortable. Who is to say that when I reach 200 I won't want to lose 20 more, but nothing says I have to if 200 is good for me.
