The one word of caution I have read about things like the fitbit is to not treat the data as 100% correct. Some people believe the fitbits to be 100% correct, and adjust their caloric intake to be somewhat bellow what the fitbit says they expend. Sadly for them the fitbit is over measuring their exercise and they are actually using the fitbit to let them over eat!
Hmmm, I may get one. Have been thinking about it for quite some time now.
I would challenge anyone to consume 1000 calories (and that includes anything you drink) and feel as though they over ate LOL.
But what you say IS true. You can't just exercise and then think you can just eat whatever you want. A diet has to go along with that. That's why I'm following the diet part so strictly.
300 steps is 100 cal.'s burned. 300 steps takes me 5 minutes.
I would love to have bracelet. My watch was out dated and only showed distance walked and umber of steps.
I do 300 steps dyly.
we need no less than 500 steps dyly.
I brought an old time portable radio. it helps me because it basically distance me ( not as board ) and I walk to beat of music. down side is that battery don't last more than 2 mth's.
Keep us posted. I'm interested in your process/progression

Other sites that are free are WeightLossBuddy, SparkPeople, and MyFitnessPal. I'm not sure what each of them allow you to track other than progress, but I know the support aspect of those sites is really strong. I'm sure they have a lot more components, but as I have never joined them, I don't know off hand.
