We all have different things that work. Some people do well counting calories, others hate to do it. Some keep logs and track exercise, others not.
Most of my successes have come when I was busy so that eating was not a prime focus for me, and when I had good snack substitutes ready for the taking. That means carrots and other high volume low calorie snacks instead of cookies!
What has worked for you in the past?
I'm trying to just choose one small healthy change at a time. When that one seems normal, then I will try to add another.
First I agreed with myself that I would not eat after 8pm (acid reflux).
Once that stuck, then my next idea is also simple (I need this to be very simple). I'm trying to eat zero snacks until after dinner, when I get a reasonable but enjoyable snack. Like for me, it is about balance if I am going to not give up on day 2 ...
My snack might be 2-3 oreos and some skim milk. Which is a huge improvement over my snacks before making this change.
This is not a habit yet, but it is helping me cut WAY back.
Hang in there!!!
