How much water were you drinking a day? If it is a huge amount (more than the 64 oz they talk about) then I would wonder if you are drinking because you are thirsty, or drinking because you are kind of OCD'ing on it. Keeping a journal about when you drink, how much you drink , and why you drink may help shed some light on the issue.
I do know that it is bad to let your electrolytes get out of balance. It happened to my mom (too low) and she really spaced out. Did not recognize anybody, thought dad was a door to door preacher of some kind.
well as for how much i was drinking.. hard to say. i have a brita jug. it holds little more than 4 cups which is 32 ounces and i was drinking 3 somestimes 4 jugs a day.
i have to go back in a month and do blood work again and see if everything is balancing out
Another thing I just thought of there's a drug that teens were taking that made them extremely thirsty then they'd drink way to much water and it killed them. The water killed them not the drug. I think it was ecstasy. You might try researching this. Hope this helped some.

Did your Dr talk to you about replacing nutrients that you need? This may help you decide in what drinks to use, but please be very careful in what you use and the amount. There are a number of replacement drinks out there, but we all must be careful not to overdo it.
IF you happen to have excessive thirst, then most likely the cause of the excessive thirst needs to be addressed.
I wish you the best in figuring this all out.
