I did the same last week. Intended to have 1 slice of leftover pizza. I ate 3 slices!
We are so bad! But we can get better!
It sure was good though! Pizza is my favorite food!
The reason that so many "diets" and methods of dieting fail can have something to do with unrealistic expectations. Most respectable plans, ones that work well, usually state that you should include a cheat day or just a cheat meal once a week. Often, when you are too strict with your plan, you inevitably cave in and cheat, so why not fit it into your plan upfront?
If you like beer and pizza, then calculate how many calories that meal would be and work it into your week's calculation. that way, you will not be as likely to cheat at other times during the week because you know that you have already planned for your Saturday nite beer and pizza.
Remember: the changes you make to your habits need to be permanent, or else you will fall back to your old ways and all your work will have been for nothing. A pattern of lose/gain/lose/gain is just too hard on your body, so make the pattern a slow but steady loss.
Don't feel bad about the beer and pizza; another week starts now and yesterday was your cheat meal.
WEll do you understand what I'm dealing with... I don't... it's like I'm an outsider... a lost cause... born loser... I know I'm not yet I tend to defeat myself despite my best efforts...
Ya right I'm hard on myself...and I am workin on all the good advice you have givin me... I take baby steps...(what about Bob?) tiny little efforts that have started to pay off...
Just I feel a need to beat my self up over the silliesth little things sometimes...
ooops ramblin again hey thanks all of you.. really
Any eating plan that makes no allowance for 'occasional' indulgences is doomed to fail. Again, just my opinion.
