So I'm in phase 2 of my 6 week shred. Food prep is critical. Also I track using the runtastic balance app. I like it better than the under armour one. I'm on week three and I've lost 8 inches (3 off waist, the rest is elsewhere) and 10 pounds.
Phase 2 includes 2 days a week 16 hour fast. I thought it would be hard but it's not and I feel fine. I eat dinner around six then eat breakfast around 10 or 11 on my days off.
I rewarded myself yesterday with a cute new tracksuit and another gym outfit. I work out 5 days a week at home since I live in the sticks. Still wanna look cute lol.
I never ate junk or fast food before, or snacks. When I really started tracking I found that I was not eating enough, especially at work. So now I prep lunches for the week, and sometimes breakfasts for my fiance and I, snacks and some dinner Staples for mom.
When I first started tracking calories again and got back to weight lifting, I loaded up on protein and upped my calories, got into food prepping and a healthier eating schedule (not skipping meals).
Now I have a meal plan from a nutrition coach and I'm in a caloric deficit, so basically decreased my calories, fat, and protein to a more normal level and still eat regular basis. I bought a food scale and really working on portioning my macros.
The weight is coming off pretty steadily and I'm feeling much better than last year when I was having cortisol based health problems.
My meal plan also includes what to do after my shred is over for maintenance. I probably will do the shred again at intervals. It has really helped teach me how to portion and meal prep.
