Hi All - I'm new to the group and I've managed to lose 28 pounds since Feb. I still have 40 pounds to go (+ the 5 pounds I've gained back recently). I guess you could say that I've been motivated and killing it for a while, but somewhere in the last month or so, I just lost that motivation. I'm starting over today and looking for support from this group. Can't wait to read your posts going forward!

I'm totally in your boat - I lost 25 since last year, and slowly the pounds are creeping back on. I bet have gained about 8 so I want to STOP Right now and go back to losing those. I Love how I feel when I'm down those 8, and sometimes I sabotage myself. I know my triggers and this past weekend just wasn't 'mindful'. I've decided to Not diet again - and just watch what I eat, eat Only when really hungry, not just because I've nothing to do and truly Not be a Crazy Dieter AGAIN. The only one who wins from these 'so called diet programs' Are the programs and the Diet Industry. I think everyone who really puts their mind into mindful eating will know when to eat, portions of foods and when to be extra mindful. I want this to be a lifestyle for me.

Congratulations on the 28 pounds!

Thanks @thepepperman! And thanks @Latoretta for sharing your story. I agree with you wholeheartedly. The best thing that has worked for me (other than working out - which I need to get back to doing) is tracking my calories, sat fat, sodium, etc. on MyFitnessPal. This keeps me mindful of what I am taking in and helps me choose better foods. I stopped logging there too, so I'm going to get back to tracking. I was doing so good and trying to make it a lifestyle change so I thought I could stop tracking, but back to it I go! If you are on there or decide to start using it, look me up! I am uagyrl on there too. :-) Good luck and keep me posted on your progress. We should become friends on here and help motivate each other!

For sure uagyrl!! Motivation comes from having someone help keep you accountable and I'll check in with you here. Wish I could tell I got a message when I log in. Today I'm having a piece of this flaxseed bread that I made with some almond butter - it's about 120 cal per slice (I figured out how much it was once I cut it into 12 slices) its definitely an alternative if you're trying to eat gluten free (which I'm not necessarily) but I love bread and thought this was better for me since I make it. Plus full of fiber and so filling. I'll post the site I found it on: http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/video/Focaccia-Style-Flax-Bread.htm?_ga=1.186296234.2063645212.1470061493

Thanks @Latoretta!!! That is a great recipe. I'm trying it this week (as soon as I can make it to the store). I wonder if you can do it with egg whites only??? And like you, I LOVE my bread - well, any carbs really. That's my downfall. Since I lost my job a few weeks ago, it has been really difficult staying in the routine of eating healthy and exercising, but I found that if I surround myself with healthy food, I'm more likely to choose that. I also LOVE almond butter - what kind to you use?
Latoretta
I use Justins. And I'm not enough of a baker to know if Only egg whites changes up the recipe. But it's really good and I think you'll enjoy it. How often to you weigh yourself, that's my next challenge to Not get on the scale daily and watch the fluctuations and then start feeling like I'm not really getting anywhere. I've vowed to only get on Once a week and I'm aiming for this Friday! Good luck to you @uagyrl

Let's do it together! Weigh in every Friday morning! They say to always weigh in the same time of day in the same clothes! :-) We can report to each other how much we've gained/lost and keep motivating each other. I'm friending you now.
