I am also in my mid-50's and yes, getting on top of this weight loss/maintenance only gets harder and harder. Looking forward to hearing some ideas and insights from others that have been success at getting off of the yo-yo, up and down roller coaster. I hope to learn some new lifestyle changes with long lasting results.
Here is one thing that has helped me on my journey, if it is helpful to anyone else. My kids are off in college and beyond so it is just me at home so I often don't cook so I eat things that are easy for me, but not good for me. SO... I started making a large pot of vegetable soup on the weekends, having that for meals through the week and even taking it to work for lunch. It has provided me with a quick, satisfying, yet healthy options to that dreaded question "what should eat for dinner". Good luck everyone!! Stay positive!
An opportunity has come up to take part in some research looking at health and lifestyle attitudes and intentions. The research is being carried out by researchers at the Department of Behavioural Science & Health at University College London. For this study, you need to be female and aged 18 years or older. You can access the questionnaire using the link below. The questions will relate to your diet, physical activity and general health attitudes. It should take between 20-30 minutes to complete.
Please follow the link if you are happy to complete the questionnaire: https://opinio.ucl.ac.uk/s?s=48848
Feel free to email me with any queries and many thanks in advance for your time,
