OR have a heaping side of steamed veggies. Assuming you choose low-cal broccoli, carrots, cabbage, etc rather than starches (corn, potatoes) this should fill you up (and give you lots of extra vitamins) without tacking a lot of calories onto your meal.
If you are already doing things like this, maybe you are still hungry because you just aren't eating enough....do you think the calorie count on these healthy meals is just too low?
If you are eating enough and have a tendency to snack on unhealthy foods after your meals, plan ahead and prepare cut up fruit salad or veggies and keep them in containers in the fridge so you can grab them quick when you get hungry instead of a bag of chips. I think convenience is a big thing and so if I already have the fruit cut up, I'm way more likely to eat it instead of grabbing something less healthy.
Hope this helps....
also, half of my plate is veggies whenever possible.
you could also add a broth soup to your meal. Do not use a cream soup, they are more calories. Chicken noodle, vegetable beef, minestone, wedding are all good low calorie options
Focusing on a low glycemic foods was helpful. Google it.
