Please don't be so hard on yourself. We are only human.
I also ask myself this question. Like why didn't I stop when I was 5 lbs over. It is always better late than never.
With me, if I didn't eat over 2000 cal a day, I would drop, but I so love to eat. Being consistent day in and day out is tough.
I feel the important thing is to at least try each day, besides that can't be too painful, and when I mess up, don't beat yourself up, but try again.
This is a lifestyle change, but that is not easy. Small changes will make a big difference over time.
Please post whenever you like and there is a lot of good support on here.....
I also know I have been doing some real emotional eating. I also have to keep telling myself that I'm not really hungry. I'm stressed with school and my relationship. I'm going to focus on me and not every thing else in life.
1) Do it for YOURSELF! Yes, our spouses/significant other may be really happy if we lose the weight, but that takes the power away from us. If we don't get the reactions we want, we can attribute it to "not caring" and lose motivation to lose weight.
2) We did not get this way over night, so we are not going to lose the weight overnight either. It was a commitment to a 'weight gaining lifestyle' that did us in.
3) Rapid weight loss without medical support can be dangerous. Rapid weight loss is often followed by rapid weight gain. Slow and steady is the mantra.
4) It is a lifestyle change that we must commit to. There was a lifestyle that got us overweight int he first place. We need a second lifestyle that will allow us to lose the weight, and it will require a THIRD lifestyle to keep the weight off.
Once we accept that, then we can pick the diet that works for us and focus on "calories in vs calories out".
Welcome to the group, lots of support here!
So Monday when I weigh in I'm only going to focus on that day not my end weight,, or were I been in the past. Just today.
You might want to join overeaters anonymous--I've heard great things about it from those I know who are in it. Its principle is making you a more aware person, and giving you control of yourself, and along the way you lose weight.
I can tell you that for me, it's gotten to be fun to websurf and find lighter, healthier versions of favorite dishes. Honestly, when I look at the amount and the items I was eating on a daily basis, I'm surprised I don't weigh more than I do. I'm still allowing myself the occasional treat -- but now it's a couple cookies in the evening with a cup of tea. Before it was cookies all day long. When I found myself really hungry, it was a couple tortillas with cheese or butter. I find that when I eat better and eat what I should, the stuff I shouldn't be eating isn't as alluring as it was before! I'm hoping this will hold true for you as well.
I know weightloss surgery works for a lot of people. I'm like you though, I want to re-learn how to eat properly. The weight isn't falling off quickly -- but I didn't expect it to. I WILL tell you though I feel much better with a better diet.
Again, I'm hoping that this day got off to a good start for you and that tomorrow is successful as well.
Welcome Allie...I will become a reg on this site, especially on the weekly weigh ins thread. Wishing you good luck and looking forward on hearing about your progress in the making..Post often.. :)

Either way, WLS or not, developing better nutrition habits helps so much.
I hope you're having a good week. I like your idea of focusing on today.
Then they came across this after trying all the other weight loss things and this drink is helping. I am not rich, but with them offering a 60 day money back guarantee what did I have to lose!!
It has changed my life and helping to change my husband as he started a few weeks ago and already down 4 pounds and sleeping better at night. So, I truly understand the struggle weight can be. If anyone wants information on what we are taking send me a message, I'd be happy to share.
Have a good weekend.
Anywho tis week end. I failed, again. I have tonight all day Sunday & Sunday night to lose at least 1 lb. I want to lose 5 lb.'s but as always I just can make myself to keep my mouth shut. I back to thinking about food in my sleep.
The fight within, sigh
Welcome aboard Ally Cat.
looking forward to getting to know you. I'm Miss Chatter Box,( Admiral), lol that's me n my bertha butt buddy that follows behind me every where I go, my huge butt follows, lol
I have done the yoyo weight dance this year. I gained over 30ty lb.'s. I knew that I would if I didn't get off my butt to compersate cal. in.
most dys I did good but I kept lieing to myself as in just 1 taste, just 1 bite, just 1 more bite. yep it adds up.
I had returned to licking peanutbutter, cake iceing... off my fingers and licking the cake batter off spoon.
ya it sad but I let myself lie to myself.
One step forward without a step r two backwards, Thank God we can achive our week to week, week end mini goals. we can n will win this battle.
Ally Cat Welcome aboard
we have wkly weighin post. I also like " my fitnesspal" ya they want to sale you something but the tracking/cal counting program is free.
Will, I'v ate too much. No one available to help me walk so here I set on my big fat ass. Ya it's sounds like trumpet when I roll over onto 1 hip to fart, lol, name that turn, lol
I took in far more cal.'s than norm, and being that I'm inactive today, will my lower gut will show such days as today.
Wouldn't it be great if we lost belly, n lower belly fat like our ass drop fat/weight/size.
I lost me ass. It just relocated to my lower gut.
