After reading your whole post the thing that most caught my eye was you determination to go for walks with a cat. Good luck with that and please let me know how it works. I have thee and I can't imagine any of them being very impressed with such a thing.
As for your weight loss goal if you focus on healthy eating and consistent exercise and not just the scale you'll be fine. Lifestyle changes may take a little longer to produce the results you want than would a crash diet but statistically you're more likely to keep the weight off with lifestyle rather than temp. diet.
I agree, your weight loss goals are rather aggressive. They say that about a pound a week is a good target, you are going for about 3 pounds a week. You might want to talk to your doctor about that, just to make sure that your body gets the necessary nutrients during this time.
I agree with Facing50; lifestyle changes are usually what gets results that stay.
So again welcome, and I suggest joining the weekly status posting. It is a good way to stay focused on our goals, and a good way to help support (and get support from) others here.
I love your motivation and determination and sounds like you have a plan to get you to your goals.
I also have a plan which is a lifestyle change, but I have learned that it takes longer than I thought it would, and it takes a lot of patience, but just keep moving forward and we will get there.
This is a great group and my best to you.
