if you're not trying to lose weight..you dont have to think about it..you can just throw on your clothes, tell yourself that you're happy the way you are and that you're not trying to change anything.. but once you admit to yourself "no,this is something that has to be changed" and start living differently, it's always in your mind that "this" (your body) is something that you're trying to change.
Just before I turned 29, I vowed to give up dieting. Something clicked and I stopped worrying about my weight...I focused on ME..enjoying life, building my confidence, making friendships...
Now, 6 months later, I have dropped almost 20 pounds with no effort. I have just recently started exercising again, and I try to eat healthy most of the time. Beyond that, I cut my mind off when I start those obsessive thoughts. It's not fun. I do what I can based on the Food Guide and recommendations for exercise. And, it's probably working better than anything I've ever tried...I don't obsess, I'm happy, I'm not restricting myself, AND I'm losing weight (this week alone I was down 3 pounds).
So...yes, most people that are trying to lose weight obsess about it and it becomes what they focus on. I hope that for you it does not become the obsession it was for me, because I wasn't happy. I hope you find what works, and what you can live with, without it taking over your life...
