I think as long as we excercise it is good, regardless when it is. If we do it daily, that is wonderful......
I know how to eat healthy, I know a fair bit about exercise. I understand calories in calories out. I'm still overweight.
I day at a time. Just get the exercise in when it fits with your schedule. If it becomes a daily part of your life the weight will come off.
I agree with retiredrose that exercise at any time is good...the benefits of exercise last for 24 hours (so I once heard a diabetes educator say)...
When I use to gym. I would have caritine protein drink and a carb. 30 up to max of 2 hours before I worked out.
I always wanted to eat after work out r when I arrive home. Thank God for fruit, nut's n veggies. I keep pre made toss salad w grapes next to it. I use that also as a go to grab bag.
will, I'm going to get up and brisly walk to kitche for 2nd cup of coffee. I already had 10 oz of ice water n cup of coffee.
But personally, I find that I have more energy when I exercise first thing in the morning. Energy for the actual exercise, and energy for the rest of the day! I know it sounds counterintuitive, but exercising after I eat has always left me feeling like a had a poor workout.
Also, whatever you do, make sure to warmup.
I lift weights, and on days I walk/jog for 20-30 minutes prior to weight lifting, I feel even more energetic!
Statistically, those who exercise in the morning tend to stick to their routine more.
But it depends on you and what fits with your schedule. That's the best thing you need to do. If morning exercise fits, then do it. If you can't, then get it when you can!
So pick the expert that makes you most motivated to keep with the program!!!
As for me, the thing I hate the most about morning exercise (and that is when I go to the gym) is that i have some fixed appointments in the later morning and if I get to the gym late I have to shorten my work out.
